Finding a painting by Magritte…?
I was at the Menil Collection (a museum in Houston, TX) last week, and stumbled upon a spectacular piece by Magritte.
In the center of the oil-on-canvas painting is an old-style shotgun, leaning against a wooden wall. The shotgun is covered in splatter of blood. The pattern of the splatter is that which one would expect to appear on the victim, not the gun.
Absolutely brilliant…
It was titled “Survival”, by Rene Magritte.
The problem is, I CANNOT find any image or mentioning of it online… Seems as if it doesn’t exist!
its probably copyrighted by the owner and only he has permission to show images of it.
