Rare Key Date

1908 V Gold Nickel value?

I have a 1908 V Nickel, gold. It doesn’t have any detail in the head. It looks more like the linked 1885 nickel. The only relative detail is in the mouth/nose, ear hole, and the strand of hair in the back. Otherwise it is really clean and smooth Is this just a common V nickel worth ~$2 or so?

It is a very worn common Liberty Head Nickel ,commonly called a V nickel. As for the gold color it is environmental damage, maybe salt water. Being in a grade of about good or less it is not worth $2 but much less. Sorry but it is a coin found in a dealers junk box for .25 cents or so. It is an example of how bad the design really was.
