Perfect Proof
Any atheist out there got any solid counterpoint to St. Anselm’s ontological proof of God?
Were covering him in my philosophy class and i was just wondering if any one can poke a hole in this seemingly perfect proof.
All ontological “proofs” of God seem to boil to: God exists because He exists. If he didn’t exist, then He wouldn’t exist, but since He does exist, He must exist.
Scholars don’t even seem to be able to decide whether St. Anselm’s was even trying to make a ontological argument–hardly a good sign of “perfect proof”.
