Morgan Quarter
School Horses……..?
This Sunday, I am going to go to horseback riding again.This time, we are riding our horses.They have to assign our horses, and I don’t know what type.
They have Morgans, Quarter Horses,Thoroughbreds,Arabians,and Tennessee Walkers.
I am a good rider.We will be focusing on the trot, this lesson.I am not good with very big horses, but I am not good with very small horses.I am good with medium sized horses.
I am looking for a cute horse, great rider, and a horse companion.
What breed of horse will I ask for???
For medium sized horses, quarter horses are really gentle to ride, nice, and forever companions. They are predominantly trained in Western style, but can go both ways.
Quarter horses are usually less expensive, unless they have champion bloodlines, ranging from 2,000 to 5,0000 for a trained one. They come in all colors, and they have a pleasant disposition. Their height ranges from 14 hands to 15.2 on average. Their name comes from the fact that they are the fastest horse on the planet for a quarter of a mile, if they really want to be. They are used for gaming, trail riding, Western and English pleasure, and occasionally jumping. Overall, a quarter horse is the perfect horse for you. There are a few other breeds that might serve you well…
1) Appaloosa, these horses have the beautiful spotted coat, and tend to be medium in height, all around (used for all styles of riding), and a little bit stubborn sometimes.
2) Arabian, beautiful horse, medium size, used all around, but can have a higher spirited disposition sometimes.
3) Mustangs, you can adopt a wild mustang and train it, (time intensive) or you can buy one pre trained that someone just happens to be selling. These horses are medium in height, used all around, and have very separate personalities.
4) Paints, these horses are generally brown and white splotched, and medium in height, used all around, gentle disposition.
5) Palominos, same as paints, except they are always a cream color.
