question about 1935 indian head nickel?
if i had a nickel like that how much would it be worth now, and where could i trde it in at?
Unfortunately it is only a 1935 five cent coin ….. it is not rare …. and it’s hard to find one of those in excellent condition.
A good rule of thumb to remember about the age of an object ….. if there are people alive that are the same age as the object you are inquiring about …. it’s not REALLY an antique worth the big bucks.
In coins, if they are not made of gold or silver …. forget it.
I am constantly stunned to find that coins that maybe Jesus or Julius Caesar carried around in their little money pouches …. are only worth $50.
And thirdly, how the Indian Head nickle was designed, it looses its definition quickly, especially around the date.
The metal was really soft and unless it is in mint condition.
Facts…
All Buffalo Nickels (also called Indian Head Nickels) that have a readable date are worth at least seven times their face value (thirty-five cents) unless they are badly damaged or almost totally worn out.
Buffalo Nickels without dates are generally not collectible unless they clearly display a rare variety type, such as the “three-legged buffalo,” but even then their value is greatly reduced.
Usually on key dates are worth anything.
