HTLM Editor – There are two kinds of HTML editor you can use such as building a site directly with the code or WYSIWYG. This WYSIWYG stands for “what you see is what you get” and this means you can actually build a site without looking at the code that lie beneath the visible website. Most HTML editor’s uses codes that are closely related to what a person sees when the site is up. The downside of this method is the codes are often loaded with data that could slow down your site run time. This code does not fully support search engine optimization. HTML editors sometimes use proprietary code which does not function well with all browsers.
If you don’t have the knowledge of how to use HTML editor, you will be limited by what you can do. If you attempt to add a snippet of your own to your web page it might not show up properly and also result in broken code. There are frequent changes in web programming these days and if you want to be on top with the latest development, you will need to be constantly informed about any updates. There are free HTML editors but the best ones are the paid type thou they are quite expensive but worth it.
Website Builder – This is an online application offered by web hosting company. It is easy to use and setup. The hosting company provides detailed web design tutorial on how to make use of this method. Each hosting company has their different type of site builder which is often available for free. The disadvantages of using this website builder are: you are not allowed to transfer the site with the design when changing host and you can barely have a fully customized site to your satisfaction.
Content Management Systems – Popularly referred to as CMS includes software’s like Drupal, Mambo, Joomla as well as blog development software’s like WordPress and the rest. This tools work almost like the site builder mentioned earlier except this time they are independent and can be used on any host. Some people can’t do without this CMS, some folks find it tedious and challenging despite the available web design tutorials the originators provide.
One of the setbacks of this software is, it can be easily hacked due to its open source nature. However, it is a good tool to use if you are ready to worry about security issues and learn how to stay on top of things. They also frequently upgrade this software and you will need to learn how to do that without messing up your site too.
Learn HTML Codes
It is imperative to learn HTML because it gives you the idea of exactly what is wrong when a site develops trouble. You don’t need to know everything to be able to create a site that will bring in thousands of dollars for you.
